low as possible
want to go as low as possible static drop. and still have it driveable. i dont plan on halling anything with it. ive already have 3inch lowering springs. 1 coil cut off the stock coil springs and just a flip kit out back. i know ill need a c-notch kit. but what else do you guys run to get so low? like 6/7 drop im looking into. also what do you do for inner fenders?
pics of your ride would help here is mine as it sits now

Re: low as possible
3" spindles, cut stock coils, flip kit w/ C notch, and rear shackles = 6/8 static drop. Mine is a '74, and I have inner fenders. I think the earlier trucks have bigger inners, though. I think you are going to have to go to spindles to get the front lower.

Re: low as possible
Pics out of the grass and on a flat surface would give us a better idea of how low you are my 83 with a 4/5 drop, 2 cut coils on the front and flip kit on the rear, running 275/50/15's on a 15x9 rim, no C notch

Re: low as possible
get some drop spindles. Out back, shackles will have you cutting the bed support, but thats an option. you could also move the spring perches up on the frame, that's pretty easy if you have a shop. Finally, you could add a block if you already have a flip kit.

Re: low as possible
Trucks with the longer 56" springs will not require the bed support to be notched.

Re: low as possible
5-6 is as low as I would go. I would put 3" spindles and 2" springs...cut 1/2 coil off each if 5" isn't low enough and you think you have room. Tire size will be the deciding factor.

Re: low as possible
you can cut a half coil off or a full and relocate the leaf hangers higher up. FREE
almost free, you will need nuts/bolts for the hangers

Re: low as possible
First thing you need to do is measure the lowest point of your lower control arms(under the bushing shaft) to the ground, then measure the top of the front tires to the underside of your inner fenders to see how much room you have left to lower the truck with your current rim/tire configuration.

Re: low as possible
245/50/16 up front and 295/50/16 rear.
The three inch front spring is to soft for my taste and the shocks are crap not tw mention I have a lot of work on the front suspension to make it handle like a vette lol but I'm not chattering my teeth or bouncing everywhere. Use a 3/4 ton cut spring up front and good shocks to keep your control arms off the ground and run shock extenders in the rear with as soft valves shocks you can get. And a one ton front swaybar with urethanes in the middle and rubber on the outer Posted via Mobile Device

Re: low as possible
Spindles, chopped coils. Removed leafs, flip and notch, spring hangers mounted higher on frame. Not sure of the drop, but it's low, and streetable. A little rub on lock to lock turns with my tires. 20" wheels

Never had an issue, although the roads in north florida were always good! It's still in Fl, haven't brought it to Wi yet, but we'll see. Haha.

Re: low as possible
There is a lot of good info in the "make it Handle" thread in the suspension forum also. I have a set of the 3/4 ton springs waiting for when I rebuild the front end on my truck as well (during the engine swap). I have the heavy duty spring packs in the rear and the front springs are just stock, but cut. The truck rides amazingly well. If I didn't have a 75 mile commute every day, it would probably be my daily driver. I am hoping that the LS swap will get me a lot beter mileage, and it will see quite a bit of road time. I have 245/60 15's on the front, and 255/70 15's on the rear.

Re: low as possible
how do the 3/4 ton springs compare the the 1/2 ton springs? i feel the front of my truck it too soft for the small block and sm465, could be the shocks, they are monroe gas magnums.
it would be about 15 bucks a spring at picknpull. that doesnt sound bad as long as i can get them off safely. what do you guys think about 2 coils, flip and 2" shackles? right not i have 1.5 coils cut and a flip kit this is how it is now but i feel it need to be lower
