Frankentruck has been doing well lately, but I keep coming up with new ways to work the old rig. A couple days after getting married, we ended up buying a boat

Re: Frankentruck

Your wedding pics put a big old smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart! I love that your truck is like a member of the family and that it is still serving as a truck! I hope you and your bride have a fantastic first Thanksgiving of marriage!

Re: Frankentruck

I have been daily driving Frankentruck for a couple weeks while my wifeÂ’s car is getting some repairs I didnÂ’t want to do. Even with a few 20 degree mornings, no problem firing up and taking me to work. Unfortunately, the flasher for the turn signals died and the turn signal cancelling cam was real loose. Popped the steering wheel off on Saturday morning and got that somewhat fixed. The switch does not want to stay on when indicating right, and will sometimes stop indicating when switched left unless I push it a little further to the left. Maybe I just didnÂ’t get that cam positioned properly, but at least I can still make the lights blink

I don't think I have a functioning turn signal switch on either of my columns. I think I will be searching for this part in the future. And I understand they are a one year only part.

It’s easy to get an aftermarket 63 switch and components, but if your switch body is still good, you may just need the cancelling cam. I would check wiring before condemning the switch as bad.

The cancelling cam is the white horseshoe shaped thing in your picture right? It is basically plastic. That is the part that I thought was the one year only part and hard to find the correct one.

Yes, that’s correct. That’s an aftermarket unit that I’ve been running for several years now. I just replaced that part instead of the whole switch awhile back

Very cool.

We don't have many dirt roads left around here anymore.
