1971 400 C.I oil pan

I've been searching for pan removal/install and plenty of threads and info (thank you).I haven't seen anything with the 400, so does lifting the engine a couple inches / taking the cap off also apply to the BB 400? It's dangling there between a cross member and the dipstick is out :p

I just want to hear this thing run since I was told it runs. (I bought it anyway)

I also bought a one piece gasket rubber gasket, not sure of brand and 6 quarts of 10/40 conventional Castrol and some Permatex copper. Thanks in advance
