these brackets are made for the newer trucks with the beds pre-fabbed.
otherwise the bars from the seats have no clearance to hook under.

whatcha guys think?
i called the guy who sells these brackets...

he said that guys using them in truck application without factory bed divets/recessions (like 1st gen blazers) use washers and elevate the mounts above the truck bed to allow clearance for the seat bars.

basically the brackets stick up above the truck bed and therefore your seat is obviously higher. not sure of the safety with this design.

anyhow, i guess in theory they will work.

I actually have considered doing something like that, except I planned on using round stock and drilling a hole in the center of it to make a spacer. You need to rise the brackets 1.5 inches above the the floor to get the for the seat mounts to slide in. I was also going to mount the spacers to 3 or 4 inch flat stock and place another piece of flat under the bed and sandwich to bed floor help prevent pull/push though. I really did not like the idea of the spacers sticking up when the seat was not in use, plus the attaching bolts would be longer then I liked for strength reasons. At this point I am really looking at getting a floor section from a donor vehicle, since it would look nicer and is designed to hold these seats in place.

yep, that's the way i went...cost me $350 from the yard.
they cut it out and delivered it.
it's definitely the more pricey way to go but should be nice.

Do you have pictures of the piece yet or are you still waiting for it arrive? The yard delivered it for you? Did you just call a yard and inquire about this or did you go down to one in person? Thanks and I cannot wait to see how it turns out.

yep, just called around, about 10 yards, was quoted lots of prices.
$350 was the lowest i could find ($1200 highest!)

Re: 07 yukon/tahoe leather 3rd row install

It's the safest way to go, they are made that way from the factory. I have a rear from my 05 Yukon, that I'll need the same pieces for when I mount it in the 72 2wd. Dieing for picts!!

I wouldn't go with the brackets you have pictured. If you ever are in an accident, God forbid, the seats need the backing of the floorboards and the mounting/backing plates that are part of them. Sounds like you could do a lot better on price for the cutouts though, thats mighty steep. I know a couple of guys on here have already mod and posted the pics. I'll look and see if I can find a link.

Those brackets pictured are for the seats we have and mount to the section of flooring he purchased. The picture is of the factory floor with the factory brackets installed in a Tahoe. These seats we are referring to using are from an 00-07 model year. Are the ones you are talking about other guys modding and posting pics from a prior year? If they are from the ones like we have, I would love to see the pics because I think we are all looking forward to seeing some pics of this done and installed.

Re: 07 yukon/tahoe leather 3rd row install

ok guys, here are some more
everything is still a bit dusty as you can tell, haven't had time to clean it up yet.
turned out beautiful, i'm really happy.
also notice the tuffy center console installed.
wasn't sure how this "new school meets old school" was going to look at first.
i'm happy to say that i'm not disappointed in the least.
i think i'm going to have the door panels upholstered black leather to match cause i don't really think the original look matches up well.
everything else seems to flow very nicely.

$tally...
seats $800
tahoe graft bed $350
$1150 is not too bad for what was involved. will recoup some of that on the sale of the seats (restored fronts & bench) that were taken out thankfully. i would like to sell them for at least $700 which i think is a steal. anyone else have opinions to offer or advice about how much i should sell them for? (pics are earlier in this thread)

Ok one more question and I hate to ask, but in your tally you quote seats and bed. How much did it cost to have your guy weld everything in for you? Thanks.
