Re: So what do you do with an OEM 69 Z28 hood?
It's looking fantastic -- and I think it would look even better with the gap filled in.

Re: So what do you do with an OEM 69 Z28 hood?
I'd say fill it in,but I'm not too sure. You'll about lose that whole detail and it with be closer to looking like a store bought hood. Hmmm....
Maybe you should have put forward tilting hinges on and left it long . I love telling others how to burn up all their time so I can look at stuff. LOL

hate to say it but forward tilting hinges would have been awesome... sucks how those kinds of neat ideas come up after all kinds of hard work

Re: So what do you do with an OEM 69 Z28 hood?
I realize that this is a 3 yr old post but I was wondering if you any more pictures of the finished product? Looking at doing this this to my truck, got any helpful suggestions or pointers? Thanks

Looks great! and ditto on the sacrilege....The Camaro purists' would have a heart attack for sure, but, given the flimsy sheet metal hoods of today, I definitely understand why. Keep up the good work!

Re: So what do you do with an OEM 69 Z28 hood?
Thanks for the compliments!!
I just have to say that I have been irritating purists for over 40 years, to me its not sacrilege as I have no problem cutting anything up for my visions. Sorry to say that I did not complete that project as someone offered me more $$ than I thought it was worth before it was finished, so it went down the road. I do have a couple more pics.. |
