I used the smaller plug for my oil pressure on my 454.

Awesome looking - those are some stout numbers!

Either will work, there are also some smaller (1/8 pipe) ones along the pan rail, if you dont have an adapter for the larger holes. But I perfer the ones near the filter.

Nice engine wish it was going in mine

I noticed all of the plugs in the block. What is there intended use?

I am wishing that I would have built another small block, I hope this changes after I start it.

Which side should I put the pcv valve on, and which side should I put the breather on? I sure hate to cut holes in my new valvecovers...

Yeah, and how do you fill the engine with oil? If you don't use one of the tower oil fill tubes like SBCs have, and you will fill the engine with oil thru a valve cover, then I would think that the oil fill hole should be in a front position on a valve cover, whether driver or pass side, so you avoid the booster and heater when filling with oil. The SBC oil fill tube towers on my three burbs are located next to the booster on the back of the driver's side valve cover. The tower helps get the oil container above the booster for unemcumbered filling. So I would think the oil fill method needs working out before the PCVs and breather to the air cleaner (or just a breather). How were the original 427 valve cover holes configured for oil, PCV, & breather?

For reference, Classic Industries offers 66-68 OE oil fill tubes in black & chrome. Probably for small blocks, originally.

BTW, you know I was just razzin' ya above, right? Pure envy, that's all.

I think that I am going to put the pcv on the rear passenger side and a breather on the front drivers side and just use the breather hole to add oil.
