hey Mario, how's things? no HEI yet. was hoping to do the swap this summer. i was looking on the back for some blue ink, think it has been rubbed off could really see much, will have a better look, i was board, so i took it apart to get a better idea of the sape it was in. so im just going to restore it while its apart. ya the back side of the lense is in perfect shape. so was just goign to do the front of it. can i just take it out to the truck and put 12v to it and the other to the coil to test it? or is there any other way i can do it?

I am not sure how to hook it up. I have not hooked mine up yet. Mabye post a new thread asking how to hook it up. You will get more replys that way.

Yes I think you can do it that way.I have done this before and it worked, although you also have to get a good ground for it to work. so you could get both + and - at the battery and hook the tach to the coil and that should do it, Randy

I just hook the harness to the tach head...put the positive to the battery and put the other lead to the coil....ground the metal backing plate to the rad cradle and you dont even have to install it to test it. It can be tested up front of the truck even before you take it apart or install it..test the tack anyway. I basically just test the tach..everything else is pretty easy to find or swap.

Mario, checked the back of that tach again too and its a 8cyl tach, could just make it out. thats sweet. just put it all back together and installed it tonight, just got in. hard to swap those units in the dark but we figured it out. will have to do a HEI install next maybe. i really want to get a 3/6 drop going on but looks like the price is not right. haha
