Re: SBC starters...Please Help.....

I had the same problem about 12 years ago and had to have the nose cone on the starter milled down to allow the starter to mesh into the flywheel correctly. I later heard GM had some bastard blocks tha required millingn down the nose cones for proper clearance. from now on if I buy a new starter, I re-use my old nose cone to ensure a proper fit. Good Luck!
