Flywheel insp cover Q...

The cover for a 4.3/700R4 would fit on an old school TH350 or TH400, right?
How about under a 2004R?
How about under a 2.8 powered rear wheel drive?
What about the powerglide?

Re: Flywheel insp cover Q...

Good question! I swear my Powerglide, TH350 or TH400 are all different and will not interchange. Did every tranny have a different cover?

Re: Flywheel insp cover Q...

Andy the e dimensions in this website are different for the 350/400ths and the 200/700r4s so I don't know for sure. I have a 350th and a 700r4 but I couldn't find the cover for the 700 and I don't have one for the 350 so I'll look tomorrow and see if I can find the 700 cover and see if it will fit the th350 and get back to you. Meanwhile check this site..

Re: Flywheel insp cover Q...

4L60E/700R4 will fit a 350 (done it with the crappy sheet metal ones)
4L80E will fit a th400

Th400 and Th350 are different patterns, methinks.

Re: Flywheel insp cover Q...

I wish I had a 4L60 around to take pics of for you.

I can take pics of a th350 and th400 though.

Also, stllookn and I agree at least on the different patterns of the th400, th350 and powerglide.

Re: Flywheel insp cover Q...

I put a 4l80e dust cover on my TH400. It will only accept the top 2 bolts and extends down to the bottom of the trans pan(th400). I did this because the 502 had the 1 piece rear seal and the th400 cover would not go on it.

Re: Flywheel insp cover Q...

Does anyone know where to get a replacement flywheel dust cover for a 3 speed column shift tranny? By the way what is the correct name for this transmission?

Sheet metal (2wd) or cast aluminum (4wd) one?

Sheet metal fit 4L80E cover fit on the Th400 I have in my C10.
