Cool thanks alot for that suggestion...I'll try and find those kits.

EDIT: 82C10 do you have a part number from summit? I'm not finding the whole kit.

Re: Help me put my truck on the road.

Ranger, go to www.classicindustries.com. Click on the camaro book. Look for fuel lines. They reproduce steel and SS prebent lines for Z-28 Camaros that came with Holley carbs. I'm going to run this on mine later. I personally think it looks killer.I have a post in the "Engine and Drivetrain" section somewhere. It's been a few months since I posted it. I don't know what a search would pull up.

I'll try to post another pic later.

Ok I've almost got everything put together...if you guys wouldn't mind checking my list to be sure I have everything I'd appreciate it.

I found a fuel line kit from Jegs with tools and all so I'm good with the fuel line. (68 I checked out that camero fuel line and since I'm not sure if it will fit or not I'm going to make my own)

EDL-9300 Gasgacinch, Gasket Sealer, $4.88
FPP-1256 Intake Gaskets $14.88
HLY-0-80570 Carburetor, Street Avenger, 570 cfm $359.95
HLY-20-37 Throttle Stud, 7/32 in. $5.88
HLY-20-40 Transmission Kickdown Stud, 5/16 in. $5.88
HLY-20-88 Throttle Cable Bracket $19.88
HLY-34-150 Fuel Line, 5/8 in. NPT Inlet $25.88
MRG-2661 Water Neck, O-Ring, 45 Degree, $9.95
SUM-220139 Inverted Flare Fittings, Steel, 3/8 in. Tube, $5.95
SUM-G1423 Carburetor Studs, 5/16-18/24 in. x 1.375 in. Long, $5.95(will these studs be long enough?...they also have 2.000 and 2.500 lengths)
SUM-G1484C Pipe Plugs, Three 3/8 in. NPT, Three 1/2 in. NPT, $6.95
SUM-W233 Gasket Scraper $6.95

Re: Help me put my truck on the road.

If for some reason you have to run a rubber line someplace, find a goodyear hose dealer and buy whatever legnth you need of their product line called instagrip. Its not specifically marketed for fuel, but will work, and is rated to 300PSI, and stays flexible for a very long time without cracking. I have a piece on my truck that sat close to a header, still is flexible after 3 years. It is bettetr than any of the junk they sell at the parts houses.

Re: Help me put my truck on the road.

SHE IS ALIVE AND ROARING!!!

It pleases me to no end to be able to say that.

I ran into a few problems...for instance, I didn't reread my new carb manual and thought, well I'll just tighten the carb down the same as my old setup...WRONG. I freakin tore up the threads in my brand new intake manifold(stripped like you wouldn't believe). I bought a heli-coil kit and it's now stronger than it was before but I still feel like an absolute idiot.

My other problem was instead of going with my gut and just setting my engine at TDC and then pulling the distributor, I followed the directions in my manifold installation guide. Basically they wanted me to mark where the rotor was, where everything was pointed and whatnot and then pull the dizzy and put it back in lining up the points.

So I have everything on and I go to start the truck but it just won't start...I crank and crank and play with the timing and what not. I finally put the engine at TDC, pulled the dizzy, set it in correctly and then tried starting it again...now it would sputter and at least try to start. I was baffled why it wouldn't start until I talked with a mechanic in town who does alot of engine building and restoring of old cars. He told me, "well with all the cranking you did and it didn't start you probably ran the cylinders dry so your not getting the compression you need. Check your compression and if it's 100 or under squirt a tablespoon of motoroil in the spark plug hole. It should start right up after that." I tested it and sure enough it was 90-105 on every cylinder. I put the oil in there and my baby started up the first crank. I set the timing and idle and took her down to the gas station, fueled up and drove around town for an hour or so...I was behind the wheel with a grin so big my cheeks started hurtin.

Thank you all for your help!

I'll tell you all this right now, the truck is running better than it ever has since I have owned it...the new carb made all the difference in the world.
