Thumbs up Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Installed tilt steering column. Looks good. Mounted it as far forward as I could. Need all the help I can get to get my belly under it.

Not much. Finished painting wheels. Have got bed wood ready to go in, waiting on body guy to finish up the bed. Looking forward to having a whole truck.

Big weekend for me...

Swapped a 350 engine into my beater in place of the 292 inline 6
Built new exhaust for the V8. Did it all my self.
Converted the beater to power steering at the same time.
Put new wheels and tires on the beater.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

More of a week really, cleared about 40 feet of brambles to find the fallen wire fencing at the back of the house in France, re-fenced it, cut two acres of grass with my trusty mower, cut some more brambles, went to the dump twice, kept out of the way of the carpenter fitting our new stairs, drank some wine and some cold beers now and then, ate some nice food, trimmed a couple of trees, saw a couple of friends, did a few bits and pieces around the house, discovered we have a resident snake in our ruined stone outbuilding (the old bread oven) and various other bits and pieces, then drove back yesterday for 16 1/2 hours straight, about 850-900 miles.

Oh and I also found wht I hope will be a good basis for a rat rod, it's an old 20's/30's car, possibly American not sure as I couldn't see it close up. It's been chopped into a truck at some point and had a home built crane presumably for hauling logs attaxched on the back as it's in a shed next to a sawmill (it's nbeen there a long long time looking at it) the rear frame has been repaired/reinforced with wood! (maybe during WWII) Just got to persuade the wife it's a good idea, find the owner and see if they'll part with it and then get it home!

Learned that an Old Navy synthetic Fleece Sweater is not the best arm protection when welding.

No. It was just enough to burn through the sweater and let me know. Didn't even leave a mark.
