anybody ever SAS an 88-98?

i'm getting ready to put a straight axle under my 93 2500, just wondering if anyone else has done this swap. what problems did you run into? any tips and tricks to make it go easier? if it makes any difference im starting with a 2wd truck.

ive done one on my 97 tahoe.was my 1st one.since then ive done one on a 1998 crew cab and assisted my friend on his 1998 k1500 ext cab.
ill try and help any that i can .
wouldnt have one anyother way.i love my truck!!

how much lift is needed to clear 38,s on that body style? please give us
some details.

I have a perfect candidate with my`92 K3500 SRW,5spd,& marine-duty 6.5TD 300hp.But,I keep coming around to leaving it be and messing with my`72s.If I sell the`92 I`ll target the sale as a candidate.Tempting,very tempting.If I got a newer truck I just might.I have a GM Dana60 and a RH-drop NP241 to start with.

I have the ORU kit, got it when they only had 2 styles, and when the price was $750, not sure what it is now. In that pic it had 40" Gumbo mudders, 12" springs with the bottom two removed. The rear was 6" Procomps with a sh!tload of add-a-leafs, homemade shackle flip, and hangers off 73-87 4wd. I ran 38x12.5s with 6-7" lift, trimmed the fenders and the bumper. If your running the wider 38s, then gonna havta trim more. Here is a pic with skinny 38s....

And here with the same amount of lift, but with cutout flares, and 40" boggers 12" wide wheels.



The tires rubbed big time, got a few shallow slices in the tires because of it. I lifted it some more, close to what it was in the other post. Need to take some pics of it.....

Were did you get the spring hangers at that bolt to the frame. That sure looks nice i have been thinking of doing that to my truck and seeing your pictures give me a real jolt.I...I got have mine looking like that with c20 diffs.

I used ORU's kit, but gonna make my own. If you take some measurements, it's pretty easy to come up with a crossmember, just the rear takes some thinking, but Sky Man. has a kit, but it's 6" lift over stock, and that's with stock springs, so with a 4" spring, that's 10 total inches. I can make for a big truck that still can flex and ride good. There are more pics in my sig....

what is that transfer case out of that you used? is it hard to get a married style case to work with that much lift(I.E. driveshaft angles)?
I,ve been thinking about converting my 88 2wd 3/4 ton, now that i,ve got
extra diffs & transfercases.

In the first pic it had a div case, and the rear angle was bad. I have a Ford case to put in, but can't ever seem to find time. The wife pitches a damn fit if I leave the house. I have a friend with a lifted Dodge that is HUGE, as far as I know he didn't do anything to the driveline other than lowering the trans mount. But might have to get a custom front shaft, I won't know till get the t-case in. Maybe I'll get permission today...
