LUV, I think my bar was into the bags when aired out because I had it mounted directly to the frame and may have located it slightly aft of stock.

I just measured the pieces I cut off my cups and they are 1" (minus the thickness of a cut-off wheel ). My cups were RECENTLY purchased from SD and shipped as 2.5" total height which I reduced to 1.5". It looks to me like Jimmydean's pictured cups are 1" taller than mine.

I think my bags touch the arm (only when aired out) no more than they contact the upper plate (but slightly less uniformly).

Also, I don't have the exact ratio but if you cut 1" from the cups it should give you about 2" more drop since the cups/bags are about 1/2 way out on the arms.

Hmmmmm, so 1" off the cup might be = to 2" in drop? That would work for
now. The rear is at 25.5 on the snubbers, it's 25.0 w/ the frame on top of
the axle. I have a rear C-notch kit which I assume can give you as much
as 3" in drop, that of course is assuming the pumpkin ain't into your floor.
Is that a fair assesment? Still on the fence about installing the C-notch

KP Componets cups are 1.5" so you could go that route as well, and save the hassle of cutting.

I didn't notch the frame of mine, but I will on the next project. The picture I posted was using ART cups, but it's the same concept. Set the up in the arm, look at how much sticks out, cut that much off, reinstall.

I don't know if it will be a full 2", but it will make a difference. Look at 67Fleet's truck build, his cross member was nearly on the ground with cut cups and RE7 bags. Mine with uncut cups and RE7 bags had my cross member a solid 2" from the ground.

Good to know. On the other hand, I got a free pair of 5.5" OD by 1" tubes I can now use on my trailing arm x-member exhaust cut-outs

I have a feeling those will be to big. I had a hard time getting good placement with a 4" OD tube.

If you guys cut the cup down will the plate that mounts to the bottom of the bag touch the lower A arm? I might be getting some 20's or 22's this Friday, so that's going to put me up even higher out of the weeds.

No idea, but after reading another thread in this section I am thinking of
getting tubular LCA's for mine, no cups needed, just bolt the bag to em.

That is probably the best idea as far as ease but for the money they cost I could not fork out the cash to gain an inch or two give or take.

I think if you go lower than 1.5" it will. Even at 1.5" it might just barely touch in a spot or two. You can see in my previous pics that it's close to the "rolled edge" at the top of the spring pockets. It shouldn't matter as long as you have enough tube below it to keep it from shifting around.
