That is an awesome short box. Mine does not have a dealer decal on the gate but then I was told the dealer installed the shell and removed the tailgate for him. The dealer missed ordering the below eyeline mirrors so the dealer installed them also at delivery. The original standard mirrors were installed when the topper was removed and some screw placed in the tri pod holes. Those are nice options on your 72 also. Mark

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

Well looks like it might only worth about $17k this week. Guess I better drop my classic insurance and drive it to work this winter! I really thought it would have been swooped up but it looks fine in my garage. Thanks everyone.

location may be a factor, plus i bet that truck is one you have to see in person to roll your socks down. it is beautiful nonetheless.

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

Well as you can tell with my NOS parts and since I grew up with these trucks from the time these were new, I know a lot about originality and detail. This truck, my friends is the pinochle of all finds. As a couple of board members and purists such as Joesjunk and 72Ironmike can attest, this truck is a survivor original and is Arizona rust free. I have been more concerned lately that this truck would go on to someone who is looking to preserve it in it's original paint state and not use it for a basis to modify or repaint it.
They are only this original one time.

Mark

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

Mark, if the day ever presents itself where I could make you the offer you are looking for, I would be just that. I know what this truck is, not what it could be. It needs to be preserved as is. My Father(Classic Collector) was down for my Grandfathers funeral last weekend and I showed it to him. We're both kicking ourselves for not being in the position at the time of your sale to act. Truely a *****en survivor.

Chuck

Nothing wrong with the truck, that's just the way the market has been. Try again in the Spring and it will probably break 20k.

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

I will say HOTFUN's truck is worth the $25,000 he is asking. I had the pleasure of conversing with Mark about his truck and I know he wants this truck (if sold) to go to a new home where it will be appreciated for what it is. A very low milage, untouched classic...to be used for show and not to be used as a DD. Soon this would become just another 4x4. Mark...Stay firm and you will find the right buyer. Good Luck!
