So, to be really correct for a '68, I need both types of heat pressed material. The narrower kind for the seat inserts and then some of the wider kind for the door panels. Plus, I guess the narrower kind would need to be a little darker.

Yes, I believe that is correct. And yes, The center is darker than the outside.
