Yep. I've made a few small updates to the Blazer thread as well as doing this. I tend to get a little sidetracked...

Re: Gringoloco's GenIII 6 point-oh build
All the 4.8/5.3s around here are stupid high mileage and covered in the orange paint the pick-a-part uses to mark them. I had to outsource my 5.3 from AZ...

Re: Gringoloco's GenIII 6 point-oh build
You have been an inspiration as well as others with their LS engine swaps,so even though Im temporarily going to install the running 305 out of my Camaro Im still on the lookout for an engine/tranny combo.......hopefully a 6.0.

Re: Gringoloco's GenIII 6 point-oh build
I've been looking for a couple years now and have yet to find a deal. I had a 5.3 in an 02 avalanche and a 6.0 in a 05 2500hd and loved them both.
If anyone knows of either a 4.8, 5.3 let me know. A 4l60e would be nice too

Re: Gringoloco's GenIII 6 point-oh build
hey man im pretty new here but i've had a lot of experience w/700r4's i've got a thirdgen camaro w/ one in it. went the whole gammit of trying to have some regular trans shop build it for me 1900 waste of money. made the horrible mistake of buying one from ATI. then had a guy that builds some pro mod trannys build one for me cost me 2800 w/converter, tickled to death w/ it. you can build them but it has to be a 90-92 as these have the aux valve body. here is alist of some of the parts: used 90 700r4 out of a truck $600

Re: Gringoloco's GenIII 6 point-oh build
This may be a dumb, question but after researching it I really haven't found a solid answer.
Is the only difference between the LQ9 and the LQ4 the compression ratio? One other small question... In researching I found that the LQ4 is based off of the 5.3 block. Would it be possible to bore out the 5.3 from 3.779" to 4", put yourself some flat-top pistons in it and basically have an LQ9? Thanks in advance, and sorry for thread jacking... Adam

Re: Gringoloco's GenIII 6 point-oh build
Hey Gringo,
Have you looked for headers for this thing yet or are you planning on using the stock manifolds? They're supposed to flow well. The flanges on my LS1 manifolds are about the size of a small triangular shaped country though. Let me know if u find a deal on LS headers like you did on the SBC headers.

Re: Gringoloco's GenIII 6 point-oh build
I have a set of MAC F-body mid-lengths I'm gonna try. I think the Thorley's will work if the MACs don't...
