I seriously doubt it, how are they going to know it isn't stolen?
You will probably have to have you DMV make up one as long as you can prove its yours (bill of sale, registration, etc.).

The "sticker" on the glove box door is known as SPID. It stands for Service Parts IDentification...while it does have the VIN on it, it's only to keep those details specific to that truck.
State laws vary on this issue quite a bit. Some will allow a simple "bill of sale" to declair it legally yours and issue you a new VIN and title. Other states would "freak-out" confiscate the vehilce, make you jump through hoops, maybe even try to prosicute you.
Get it legal before you do anything to it....
