Re: What did you get done? 07/27

Started the weekend by dropping the front of my blazer down another inch. I always thought the front sat a little too high. So I was going to pull out my Belltech 2" drop springs and replace them with my 3" Ground Force (Summit brand) drop springs that I had laying around. When I got them side by side, the Ground force Springs were already 2 inches shorter. I know when I installed the 2" Belltech springs and 2.5" ECE drop spindles,... my drop equalled roughly 4.5 inches total. So to make a long story short,... I cut 1/2 coil off my Belltech springs and reinstalled them. I gained 1 1/8" of additional drop. Has anyone ever install the 3" Summit brand springs and got over 3" of drop? Here's a few before and after pics,...

I managed to squeeze out the rest of the body work on the driver side front fender....and then made a mad dash to the hospital to be there for the birth of my new son.

Little bugger ruined my plans on getting the driver door done

Congrats on the new arrival!

Make a note, this is only the first of many "plans" the young offspring will ruin!

Re: What did you get done? 07/27

I finally got my aluminum water pump from Fedex. I mocked it up and measured for a serp belt and after a run to the parts store the front of my motor is finally done. I picked up the correct water neck and upper radiator hose to clear the alt on the serp setup and finally found some socket head bolts for my oil pan. I cleaned the garage up and started getting everything ready for the engine swap this coming weekend.

I sprayed my engine compartment and suspension crossmember down with some degreaser and after 20 minutes drove it to the car wash and hosed it all off. It actually worked very well and I think I should be able to freshen up the paint on the inner fenders, firewall, core support without too much more elbow grease.
