Where are you at in Tulsa? Got a pic of your truck? I've probably seen it around. I'll be running soon, we can meet up at a cruise in when they start up in a month or so.
As far as the board, most of us have known each other through the Internet for a long time now and we're always joking around. Personally, I think there's no need to bd these trucks and the one in the pictures doesn't look good to me. But, no one should build a custom for anyone else, just to your own taste. Be forewarned though, ask for an opinion on this board and you'll get many honest answers. If you want to fit in fast just start picking on Dave (LOHRTBT).

By the way, who did your bag work? That's a future project of mine.

There is a need if you want to drive (not cruise the show grounds) that low. I'm not referring to the primer yellow truck in the pics as it's not my taste (too rough for me).
That's what I like about Scott Sullivans rides. He builds them that low w/o the need for air. At a show, you walk by his ride & think how sweet it looks & figure it's bagged. Then he gets in, cranks it up & drives cross country that low, but w/o the rails dragging. Now maybe I'm wrong, but 5-8's doesn't look capable of cruising cross country w/the truck sitting where it's @ in his posted pics. . . & I want mine as low as possible going down the road (not just sitting still). My truck is still bagged, I'm just using the bags for a better ride & to get more height when needed, not for more drop. I'm also notching my crossmember as well. My goal is low & driveable. Helmdogg, you'll need to cut some of both to answer your original question.

If i cut and drop the frame below the cab and drop the cab what about the steering column? its boled on. With that method you can only go down till the center hump over the tranny hits the dash.

Helm, I'm in Broken Arrow about 5 miles from you. My girl lives close to 31st & 169 though.
5-8, when I buy the bag parts, I'll let you know when to head to Tulsa for the weekend!

I haven't replied to this post because, well....I really don't know why.
But, while I'm here, I won't to put my nickels worth in on that fugly truck. That has to be the biggest hack job I've even seen on anything. Damn, I like them low, but come on. That's the ugliest piece of crap I've ever seen. OK, I'm done now.

Wow, Mike. That settles it. If Mike speaks badly about a truck, then you know its junk.

You guys are right, I'm not one to putdown (or as you young guys say, diss) someones truck, but this thing left what made it a truck somewhere in the junkyard.
What would anyone with a bit of pride in a truck want to hack it up like this? Listen, I can see bagging and lowering. After all, I am an old man with a lowered truck, but that is just totally crazy. Ahhh... I feel better. I'll go back to my good ole polite, no dissing, self now. |

I'm not ever going to lower my truck but I really like their look and appreciate the work you guys do to make them looks great. But when the truck is that low and fugly it makes me sick. That was a great looking truck until some halfwit who doesn't know how low is too low took a cutting torch to it and hacked it all up. Maybe he'll do it to a Ford next time

I guess it could have been a rough truck to begin with. . . maybe if it was a rust bucket or had been totaled & they were just trying to practice their fabricating skills . . . ......
Definitely not my taste.

I looked at the other pictures posted and I remember now, I did see that truck at Truckin Nationals in 2002. I dont know if it was that low, but I do remember seeing it, and the picture of it sitting next to the grey truck brought back all the memories. I didnt take one picture of that truck, I saved the film for the nice rides
I have to give him some credit though, he had a plan and stuck with it no matter how sh*tty it turned out He took it too far with those mods. He could have really tricked that truck out clean with the time and money he spent to do that BS.
