Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Ok...here is what I am willing to do. I was going to use a new set of repop "Rockers" as part of the give away drawing along with the five 2003 Classic Truck Magazines I am giving away as a gift drawing to those who donate to this cause. How about if give these to be used in the restoration of the 67??? Your opinions?

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Hopefully a shop will pick up on this. Many are giving of their time, their money, and their parts to help one who is in need becuse of the cards that life has dealt Dawn. Just think...14,494 have veiwed this thread and if those who viewed this thread gave just $1.00 the expense of fixing the 67 Chevy would be solved. I am hard pressed to believe that of the 14,000 plus who have viewed this thread this cannot afford $1.00. Come on those who have not given, it's time to give. It's time to walk the talk.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

If I had known that 67 needed rockers I wouldn't have bought the ones that Dawn had there. I was just trying to put a little money in her pockets.

We have got a guy about an hour north of Dawn that I think is willing to help out on this. I have talked to him a little about this, but the main concern is how much money comes in above $1k. We need to give him some money for his time, because I can't expect him to do it for free. If this works out I am willing to spend a few days helping him at his shop to get some work done on it. I am sure others would be willing to join in as well.

Is there anyone close that would be willing to donate a manual transmission towards this project?

I would guess that Dawn isn't sure what all she needs to fix her 67 truck up.

Just a couple hours to go, if anyone wants to jump in. The auction ends today at 8:42 AM Eastern time. We're at $1,405 right now.

Hey Tdave00 and bowties....
Just a thought, I know we want to at least give her $1k, but since it's over $1400, would maybe splitting the $$$$ with her and the guy going to fix the truck be a better chance for us to get it running for her.....???

Just pretty much any manual tranny. She told Bill's Bowtie that she wanted a manual tranny in it. He might know more specifics.

I have a 3 and a 4spd tranny and could possibly come up with enough for an auto.

I use a different email address for PayPal. I didn't want to post it, so if you need it, send me a PM and I'll give it to you.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Okay, here's the final results of the ebay auction which ended this morning. We were kinda stuck on $1,405 for a while, but a forum member who wishes to remain anonymous, said he would make up the difference to make it an even $1,500. I'll be going to the bank tomorrow to get a money order, or cashiers check, whichever the bank thinks is best. tdave00 has volunteered to personally take the check over to Dawn, so I'll be mailing it to him. He will be taking pictures and hopefully video when he hands Dawn the check.
I think we can all feel pretty darn proud....pat yourself on the back.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Hopefully I can present it to her this weekend, or maybe even earlier. You guys don't want me to video it or take pictures do you ? Just kidding. I'll try to do both and post them back here.

I know Dawn will say it, but I want to say thanks to everyone involved in this effort. Proud to be a part of this, and this board.

Woody, sorry I gave you the wrong info on the tranny. I had a manual tranny stuck in my head for some reason. BTW, where do you stand on what we discussed at your place? Interested? If so, give me a call or PM. My number is on TNCTC in the contact list, or let me know and I'll call you.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Okay, they're going out in today's mail to tdave00
$1,000 to Dawn, $520 to Woodridge for the work to get her 67 "on the road"
Thanks go out to Woody for volunteering to do this. Guess that's why he lives in the volunteer state?

It took me almost an hour in the bank to get Woodridge's check because they thought he was wanted by the FBI for Money Laundering. I guess the banks have an automated system now so that when you ask for a Cashiers Check in a wanted fugitive's name it automatically flags the transaction. Seems this guy named "Butch" Ballow has been using Woody's name as one of his aliases. Lucky for me that nobody was using my name as an alias, because they had to look up my name in the FBI system. If my name had been there too, I couldn't get a check made out to Woody. We all had a big laugh about it. That delay was a small price to pay for the government doing their job to catch these guys. When I came home, I looked up this guy. Here he is: FBI website link

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Ok, boys and girls. We have $1k to give to Dawn, and about $550 to try and get her truck running and drivable. $550 is a little slim to get her truck running but I didn't wanna give Dawn less than a $1k. Her daughter told me it was probably best to give Dawn that amount and keep what we are doing to her truck from her, because she would have probably wanted us to use it all on her truck since the money came from the board members. She also told me that her mom could really use the $1k. We are gonna try and stretch this $550 as far as it will go, but if any of you guys wanna donate money towards this you can send the money via paypal to paypal@softsled.net.

You are "dadgum" right about the Volunteer State .

Unless Woody has gained about 200lbs and had some plastic surgery in the last couple of weeks then I can verify that's not Woody .

Here's a big ol' slap on the back Bill. Thanks for what you have done!
