Two of mine are matching and two are not. The poll only allows for one vote.

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

Looks like the % of numbers matching trucks is keeping about 45%. Not bad for 40 year old trucks.

mine came with a 307 and a powerglide. it now has a 454 and a turbo 400, so I'm really glad the numbers don't match...

The spelling only thing original on either of my trucks. My son's truck is in the same boat. (or will be when finished)

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

Guess I view #s matching as being the factory installed motor, trans, axle & all other options on the SPID being correct but not necessarily the original - dealer repairs of almost any kind are ok. Usually when a vehicle has never had any resto work or mods & typically they're low mileage, it's a SURVIVOR - rare.

That being said, I think mine was pretty close to a survivor when I got it last year but that's been changing over for reliability & driveability sake in the last month or so.

Still has 292, 4spd, posi, Light Green, Green vinyl.
Added HEI, lowered 3/3, '93 6-lug disc conversion with boost - almost road ready. MANY THANKS to board members submitting FAQ info.
Considering a 5spd & might do EFI if the motor runs as strong as it sounds in the drive.

Great thread!!

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

Mine is a 1972 C20, 350 4 barrel engine, T350 Trans. It is ALL matching numbers, original alternator, starter, carb, distributor, trans, engine. 76,000 miles, mostly original paint, A/C, tach. I had the intake off and it is the high nickel block and steel tufftrided crank in it. Go figure. Same block and crank as LT1 engine.

Mine is and I'm sure I'll keep it that way. The 350/350TH is plenty good for me. I plan on keeping it almost completely stock anyway.

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

It is very much original, for now. I see big changes for this truck on the Horizon
Out with the 283,in with an LS5 454,out with the power glide,in with a TH 400,and those 4 wheel drum brakes non power, yea that has to go.

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

I think this really depends on what numbers you are talking about. My truck is numbers matching and I can prove it.. point to a part and I have a receipt with the matching number for the price paid..

Well, let's see. My left frame rail is from a 68. My right frame rail is from a 72. The cab is from a different 72 1 ton. The engine and trans are from a 78.

I'm serious.
