Re: What did you get done? Memorial Day weekend

Saturday I did some cleaning out in the garage. Trying to get rid of some of the clutter. Came across a Holley 750 that I bought from someone on here a few years ago. Guess I had stuck it in a box and forgot about it.

So that gave me an excuse to tinker with the truck Sunday. Bought a rebuild kit and a new power valve. Rebuilt it and got it installed. Still have some tuning to do, but it is already better than the Edelbrock I had on there.

Yesterday we had friends and family over for BBQ. Ate way too much.

Re: What did you get done? Memorial Day weekend

I got The Toybox put back together. It has sat for close to a year at this point. Got it fired up & drove it around the block scraping everything in the way. Until it stopped getting gas to the carb when we were at the bottom of my street. So we pulled it home with my wife's Jeep and loaded the float bowls with enough gas to drive it up the driveway and into the garage. I guess the "full" tune up is absolutely required now.

Oh, and that was on my only day off, Sunday. Worked all day Saturday. Worked most of the day Monday (8:30-6:30). The world has no mercy on car sales people. But I sold 4 and a 1/2 cars this weekend, so that helps it not be so bad.

Re: What did you get done? Memorial Day weekend

I finally got to take the old passenger side spring and spindle off and install the new spring and drop spindle. I also got my new brake hoses put on but broke one of the hard lines in the process( don't ask me how..I still don't know). All I have left is to replace the brake line I broke, put on the new shocks, and bleed the brakes and I will be done.
I also helped the wife make her garden and get everything planted. I had a high school friend that was in the area for a wedding so we got together for a drink to talk about the good ole' days.

Chris, rust in Alabama?

I took our family on a mini-vacation, to Duluth/Two Harbors (Lake Superior) MN. We go there every year, kind of an anniversary/tradition thing. Here are a few pics.

That is a cool gauge mount, I am using the ash tray on mine to make a holder for my 1911. Figure it is a good place.

Re: What did you get done? Memorial Day weekend

I finally got my larger air tank installed under my 'burb for my train horns and installed some blue L.E.D. strip lights around the inside of my gauge cluster... Still need to get a couple more strips to light it up really well though.
