I use to do that using ratchet straps and eye bolts in the garage ceiling on my 72 Blazer. Worked great, sit in the front seat push the front up and attach hooks to the tabs that bolt it to windshield frame. Jump out lift back, and hook to the ears that mount to top. It hung about 2in from bed rail. The trick was pulling into garage. That's when I used to drink. Real precision driving skills were needed.
