Rear end and wheel backspace help
My truck is apart right now as I am doing bodywork. But would like to start wheel shopping. My truck has a 10 bolt rearend that the best I can tell is about 61-62" wide. I am not tubbing or anything but would like to know what backspace and width of wheel would work on the rear of the truck. I am thinking of using 17 or 18" wheels on the rear. What have you guys found works well? Thanks

Re: Rear end and wheel backspace help
How wide are your wheels and what is the tire size? Is the tire clearance close to the fender as well as the bed?

Re: Rear end and wheel backspace help
Found your build thread, nice work. I see you went with the wider fenders so the tire size is not important. I am going with stock fenders so maybe someone has some wheel and tire sizes. Thanks for your help.

Re: Rear end and wheel backspace help
thanks, guess our post crossed but that should give you some idea, mine is almost to close for comfort so 4 1/2 would be a good backspace for you to start with.

Re: Rear end and wheel backspace help
Do you think I could go with a wheel wider than 8" with a stock rear fender?

Re: Rear end and wheel backspace help
55. My rear end is the same width as yours and I'm using zero offset 15x8Corvette Rallys. My 245/70R15's are about 1/2" from touching my stock rear fenders.
