Sometime over the winter i'm going to make a new steel hatch for my burb,
At the moment i'm building a car thats going to have a mould taken off it to make a pro mod drag car, I'll ask the mould makers how much it would be to make a mould/ produce tail gates, if it's realistic i'll get some made,

here's a link to the shell i'm doing if anyones interested, turning a 4 door into a chopped 2 door coupe

Yes i was thinking of doing something similar to mine, guess thats saved me doing the research ! Sometimes the hatch stays get out of sync on mine which is a pain in the a** , I'll post as soon as i find out anything about pricing

If your still looking there is a small salvage yard over in Red Oak Texas, south of Dallas that has a few older burbs. They had 2 complete trucks 72 style 3/4 ton and 2 half tons. Both the 1/2 tons had liftgate/tailgate units and one of the 3/4's still had its barn doors. i can call them up or get you a name and number later if you want. They are decent guys and would probably even package and ship for you. All units were pretty rust free (of coarse in texas and NM thats the only benefit to our weather).

The place is called County Line Classic Auto Salvage. Its on I-35 South of Dallas in Red Oak Texas. Their website is http://www.oldcarpart.com/ and the phone is 972-223-3200. I've picked up many parts from them and they always have good prices and are reputable to deal with. I dont see pictures of the suburbans but they should still be there.
