The 6.5 heads are no better.I`d sleeve the passages if you want an upgrade.In`97 GM increased cooling and went from the 85 or 95 Gallon Per minute pump to the 125 GPM and used a dual t-stat crossover housing.These were serpentine trucks so the pump is reverse rotation,not a problem.The higher flow t-stat housing needs work to make the throttle cable possible,since they can on drive-by-wire EFI.I had put all that on my`95 before I went bigtime with a crate marine motor that had all that on it.
