I was 100% sure I was rolling wide whitewalls, until last nite.

After we rolled it out with lettering done, I'm thinking different.

The truck is a 60, but has taken on a very distinct 62-65 era feel about it.

I also didnt want to repaint the wheels white, but.....

I think to keep it true to the era and style, the wheels should be white, with poverty caps and skinny whitewalls........

In my head it seems more authentic.

Typing this out to you guys is like talking it out to myself....

I bounce ideas I see in my head here, and it helps me see clearer, without just talking to myself. HaHa

It definately has that 62 -65 push truck type feel to it. I love it. So simple yet reaches out and grabs you. love it

There will be no outlining or Shadowing done to the letters. This is almost exactly the same as the econoline van they used at the track in 64-65. Just white lettering, plain and simple.

I have people tell me all the time the remember seeing my truck running around PID and Heidelberg... When I tell them the lettering is new they don't believe me... Let me know when you guys are headed to Sunset.. I will try and round up some guys from my club to head out too.. I love that old track.. You going to Thompson for the Gasser deal?

For the longest time, I thought your truck was a chevy garage truck, with the steele chevrolet. Then I looked closer and saw the track names.

I hated to copy your thunder, but Ive wanted to do this to a 60's truck since I had my 66 burb 2-3yrs ago, but sold it.
I will let you know about Sunset. And I hope to make it to Thompson too.
Gotta get carb squared away. Acting funny.

When I was a teenager that was exactly the kind of truck that used to push dragsters up to the starting rollers at Lions Drag Strip here in SoCal.

He plans to leave the lettering...says it draws mad attention over there.

I sorta miss it, but being laid-off for what seems like forever, it had to go.

Heres a few pics from over the summer, before it headed on the boatride.

It's a shame it had to go, but these can be hard times depending on your situation. Love how it turned out, I can see why it would attract a lot of attention.

I sold my truck today as well, and the guy i sold it to told me of another for sale in the state of Victoria here in Australia, so i thought id check it out! Look familiar?? Doesnt look quite as cool with the different wheels.

Please dont get me wrong Tim, still a very cool looking rig, i just thought you'd really nailed the 'look' with the wheel/tyre/height combo you had!! Hopefully it will go to a good home down here somewhere! Never good having to sell a toy when you dont want to, i certainly didnt want to sell mine, but i loved every minute of owning it, been one of the coolest vehicles ive had the pleasure of owning!! At least i know my buddy i sold it to will take care of it. Who knows, might end up with another one day!
