do i need carpet pad?

do i need the carpet pad/insullation piece if im running hushmat?

Tim, I have been wondering the same thing, is the Hushmat thin like Dynomat?
I think the padding would help thermally, not just sound. I think you would need the carpet padding still as it has a thickness that the carpet has been cut to fit with. My personal opinion would be to try yo use it, but definitely calls for a trial fit first.

Don't the replacement molded carpet sets come with the jute insulation backing attached?

when I ordered my carpet it came with the jute insulation already on the back of the carpet.

i bought original carpet that was in great condition from a board member off here and he said the padding wasnt all that great so he took it off

I did padding and molded carpet on top of sound deadening, it is plush and squishy, but absolutely not necessary...
