hi there
i have a question here, i got a holley electric fuel pump and i still have to buy the regulator, now the question is what do i do for my overflow, my carb is an edelbrock 1406 and it has no return line so i have no clue about what to do here, wont my carb overfuel ? i am running a fuel cell and it has a return fitting on it,, but i am stumped on what to do ,,, any help appreciated, thanks

Do what I did and cap it. I'm running the Holley red pump with the 1406 carb and just capped the return line.

I don't have a return line on my 75. There's just one line that runs from the tank to the pump, then one from the pump up to the carb.

Slammed,

Be careful about capping your return line. Some fuel regulators are "bypass" type which have to have a return from the regulator to the pump.

My suggestion would be to buy a regulator of this type, and run the return from there right back into the tank. The closer you mount this to the tank the easier your job is!

bpmcgee thanks that EXACTLY what i was thinking there should be,, good call.
on the other hand with the regulator that doesnt have a return outfit it wont "overfuel" the engine without a return line??

A holley red pump is pre set to 7.5psi- great for a holley, a lil too much for the carter/edelbrock. Just get a normal $25 holley regulator and install in line. There is no need for a return line with either the pump or the regulator. I use the regulator in both my trucks. I use a red pump and holley 750DP in the 78, a carter 9psi and carter 600cfm in my 79.
