700 r-4 converter lock up

My column is junk,so I'll rewire trans and throw in a B&M unimatic shifter.Maybe,Thanks for all the info.

I actually like those older van columns. Many don't have the ugly "hump" on them the way the car columns do.

My last car had one out of a early or mid 70s full size GM car
