Looks sharp, gives me some motivation to get my vette rallys back on the truck! Keep up the good work.

Just about done. I have the interior panels yet to install along w/the keyless entry. I'm quite happy w/this truck, almost sold it a couple times since I picked it up for Bigarmz on this board.

Re: 86 Shortbed on its way to paint :-)

Thanks Guys,

It's nice to put work into a truck and have a group like this who understand what it takes to get it to this point. I've got too much money into it, there are others that have spent lots more than I but as we all know its not about the money its about the build.

The tint came w/a donor cab I got for the PW/PL conversion. Don't know percentage. borderline illegal I'm sure.

what's up with the rear suspension? looks like bars on the rear end? or maybe just an illusion in the pic...how low is it?

Re: 86 Shortbed on its way to paint :-)

It was a 2/4 drop spindles, hangers and shackles. The step bed is lighter than the fleetside and it sits higher than it did before. Thinking about removing the bottom leafspring but I plan on still using as a truck. The bars you see are Cal-Tracks, kinda like traction bars but an anti-windup spring technology. The came w/a donor truck I bought from a board member in Whitchataw Kansas, that was a drive. 4.10 posi w/those cal-trac's it hooks up nice. 700R4 built trans and about 275hp. I have heads and stuff to get it up about 375hp. That will be next year though.

That turned out super sharp. The red is a really nice color on these trucks. I see what your saying about the rear needing just a bit more drop to close the gap. Still looks good as it sits.

The only thing that bugs me are the tailgate chains. It looks like you have them covered in clear tubing, but I would go crazy with those near my new paint job.

Truck looks really really good. I bought my truck from Bigarmzz too and LOVE it. Especially now with the 6.0 swap! Good job on yours. Looks awesome.

Re: 86 Shortbed on its way to paint :-)

Yep, actually I did the cheap DIY roll in liner. I will still use this truck so no need to have a pristine bed. Looks and functionality. I had a 69 short step that was done nice and I was afraid to really use it so I decided on this one that the bed inside would be usable.

I know after time the chains will damage the paint but this isn't going to be a garage queen. I plan on using it, driving it on a daily basis so the clear tubing covers will slow the process down some.

I'm going to take it to a local interior and trim shop to have a tonneau cover made. There were already holes in the bed for snaps and I didn't have them closed up. They will be reused when new snaps are installed.
