Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
yeah i hear ya.after fiddling with a quadrajet i was givin for a few days on my truck, i finally decided to go visit my buddy walter to see if he could tune it right for me. after about 20 minutes ofhim screwing with it, he finally said, "well hell i got a brand new one of them POS's right here in the garage"
wallah! an hour later my truck is running tip top as it can for now, with a brand new quadrajet on top of it. hopefully ill replace that cam next weekend and hopefully put the a/c back in too if im lucky.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
I finally have something to post here. I had gone out to where I keep my truck stored a couple of weeks ago. Upon starting the truck the Holly that has been a nemisis ever since I bought it decided to blow gas everywhere. Well needless to say, it is now a paperweight on the shelf! I put on a brand new Edelbrock. After hooking everthing up, it started right up and runs great! I need to go back out and finish up the choke wiring, but I feel really good about it!

Fired my 383TBI for the first time on the engine test stand only to find leaky radiator and oil pressure gauge. I guess the leaky theme is in vogue.

Re: What did you get done 8/1/2010 edition
We made an offer on a house with a little bit of property, bigger garage, carport, and a nice pole barn. It looks like we'll be moving out to BFE in a few weeks!
I also hit the junkyards over the weekend with a friend. My local self serve yard has cut their collection of Chevy trucks to about 1/4 of what they usually had. That's not good! Slonaker |

Lets see, well i went to the "truck farm" finally spoke to the owner and am trying to convice him to sell either his rust free great running 78 cleanest i have ever seen or his 77 again rust free only has 40,000 original miles.
then got the phone # of the guy with the 68 charger 440 6/pack found 2 1 ton 4x4's found a so-so 72 lwb 6/3tree found a buddy a 68 cutlass 455 for a couple hundred then found a 65 impala drop top 283/glide got talking to the guy and well, hes an old race car farmer who cant drive anymore, son doesn't want to and he dont wanna stop racing. he ended up saying " try sitting in the car, then he says hit that switch, it was dusk and it was the ign switch, that lit up the gauges. he says pump it and crank it" BEST SUNDAY SO FAR
