I got the short throwout bearing in the 'kit', I soon realized it was wrong..got a long bearing from 70's model. what did you do to solve that problem?

If I remember correctly the six cylinders often used a flat (non-bent finger) diaphragm pressure plate while a lot eight cylinders used the bent finger. The added hight of the bent fingers combined with the long throwout bearing applied pressure to the fingers due to the fact that the clutch fork could not move back far enough to create any free play. Even with the rod from the cross shaft (z bar) to the fork disconnected the clutch still slipped. Kerry P |
