I agree on it being more of a classic look, and i guess i never really noticed the difference in the headlight buckets but thanks for the info.

I agree. I was considering using two sets of fenders and blending them together to get the proper profile for the round headlight grille & hood line but gain the straight side body line.

Re: Converting to round headlights, anyone ???

Does anyone have a picture somewhere of a step/fleetside 82 model C10 that has a front clip from a 72-73 or a '77 C20 ?
My friend is restoring a '77 C20 and that's what i like the most, would it fit?
I could go measure it, i know, but i want to make it out of INOX (dont know the correct word for it), don't want chrome anymore.

Re: Converting to round headlights, anyone ???

i'm alway's against front end swaps.to me they "are what they are"...but,then i think about all the crap i changed on mine.it was a diesel even......so,i say..."go with your heart grasshopper"...if it makes you happy...cool.if some of the great designers worried about what every one thought we'd be without some pretty cool custom vehicles.

Since your asking opinions and used "that truck" as an example I have to state mine. If your going to create a custom vehicle, you need to realize that the majority will probably not care for it.

The truck you pictured is a perfect example of an awesome build that was ruined by the builders attempt to improve on the original styling. The 67-68 GM truck front end was designed by a very talented designer. The person that attempted to modify it with a contemporary twist does not fall in that category.

If you are considering changing your 81-87 front end to a 73-80 style, your going to have a few folks that don't prefer that swap. If your wanting to combine the two styles, your going to find very few from either era like it.

My .03 cents, and you can keep the "change".

That looks really good.

I'm glad to see people converting the straight bodyline/square lights back to the "L" bodyline and round lights!

Too many guys go the other way.

However, you changed the entire front clip, I think he wants to just change the lights and the grill.

Re: Converting to round headlights, anyone ???

Square body = square headlights. The shape of stock headlights is consistent with the body shape and gives it continuity.
Now if I could only get square wheels that would roll...
