The biggest thing you have to look out for when cranking a dry carb is this. If you have rebuilt the carb, did you put some lube on the accelerator pump seal?
The odds of this happening are sometimes small, but I have had it happen where I did a dry start, pumped the gas pedal a few times while cranking, and I ripped the seal on the accelerator pump. Just a caution. On a Quad you can pour fuel down the pipe on top which will fill the bowl for you. When I do a rebuild, I like to put fuel in the bowl before I assemble the air horn.
