It looks trick, but kinda out of the way. It makes sense to put the tach were you don't have to hunt around for it....in that location, and with the smaller diameter tach, I'd think it would be tough to accurately read it at a quick glance. Very understandable that mounting room is limited, and I probably would have done the same thing....just my .02.
