Re: What headers to use with bags?

I used hedman ceramic coated shorties, but I didn't like them. I replaced them with 2.5" corvette ram horns.

Interested in why you did not like them.

I had to "ding" them for frame clearance and they were hard to keep tightened even with copper gaskets.

That would be great, thank you. I'll hold off ordering them until I see what it takes to get them to fit.

Re: What headers to use with bags?

Some updated info. I called Hedman. For my 72 C10 they recommend part number 68608. It's a camero (and many other) shorty with 1 3/4' primary and 3" collector. They said I should not have to clearance anything for these to fit and that many early truck owners have reported that they fit with no issues.

Did they say you could return them if they don't fit?

That would be up to the retailer you buy them from, not Hedman.

Re: What headers to use with bags?

No. The sandersons are "shorties" and allow the collectors, exhaust and mufflers to tuck up so you can't see anything until they dump out the back.

Re: What headers to use with bags?

well I got the doug thorleys and they look good and the clearance is a little better but where the flange bolts up to the rest of the exhaust i would have to cut the tubing at a 35 degree angle or so so it runs perpendicular to my frame if that makes sense heres a pic.....
