Re: what did you get done standard time edition 11/7/2010
I got the 4" lift all finished (for now ) Got new front lift springs, Blocks in rear, all new shocks, new steering arm, extended brake lines, new driver side ball joints. When I get more time I'll be doing away with the rear blocks for a shackle flip kit w/new bushings in the rear.

Re: what did you get done standard time edition 11/7/2010
Saturday we celebrated my daughter's 2nd birthday at the Dallas Zoo. Man time flies, it seems like she was born just yesterday. We had a great time, and she got a new tricycle that was definitely a hit.
Sunday, I picked up an '87 Mustang GT convertible from a friend of mine. He was up here in Dallas, so we cruised down Sunday afternoon and I drove the 'vert home.

Re: what did you get done standard time edition 11/7/2010
Used the truck to go get electrical stuff from Home Depot. The oversized 2 car garage in my recently purchased farmhouse was still wired with knob and tube with extension cords and power strips spliced in wherever they needed to plug something in. It was so scary looking that I shut the breakers off every time I walked away from it for more than a few minutes!
My electrician friend is rewiring everything for me. I'm having him put in everything I think I could ever need there. He is doing outlets every few feet, switched boxes in the ceiling for fluorescent lights, switched boxes for cheap ceiling fans, 220v for the compressor and welder, lights under the carport on a 3 way switch so they can be operated from the house or the garage, etc. So far he has been working on it two days, and expects to finish tonight. He has put in 26 electrical boxes, and I have to go buy a few more at lunch. It is going to be nice when he finishes. Slonaker |

Re: what did you get done standard time edition 11/7/2010
Dug my truck out of the garage for the first time since July and took her for a spin. Unfortunately between Fallon and boat dets and a deployment coming up quick, the truck will spend a lot of time sitting.
Also did some work on the sprinklers in the front yard. Hoping to get new grass planted before I go on deployment. We bought a foreclosed house in May and now that the weather is cooling off, good time to plant. Trying to squeeze too much in before going. Although with a torn calf muscle we will will see how it goes.........

Re: what did you get done standard time edition 11/7/2010
Put an extra capacity cast aluminum trans pan on the dually this weekend, removed the headliner (going with the bare metal look for now and digging it) and then finally spent three minutes to stick my rear view mirror back on after it's been sitting on the floor for a month. Good fun with the dually as always.

Re: what did you get done standard time edition 11/7/2010
I got some little stuff accomplished. Replaced both headlights and wired up relays for high and low beam. Did some tuning on the carb that should get me pretty close to perfect fuel metering (I still need to test drive it to make sure). Replaced most of my dash bulbs since only two(!) were working. Now I can actually see my gauges at night. Put new plastic covers on the door strikers - what a difference $2 makes. No more rattley doors when I drive, and they actually close correctly now. Troubleshot and fixed a problem with my left turn signal that was caused by a ground wire breaking during my headlight relay install.
Spent most of the weekend restoring my Camaro, but all the little stuff on the truck is starting to add up and make it much nicer to drive. Hopefully I can get the carb dialed in this week and see improved mileage out of this sucker. |

Nothing on a truck, but I went to a Long Beach Swap and pickup a sturdy (500lb rated) metal folding table. Made locally in Norco CA.

Re: what did you get done standard time edition 11/7/2010
Spent most the time taking care of the wife who is still recovering from surgery at home. Mr Mom status with my 6 year old son. Did get some time to begin cleaning up the engine compartment of the C-30, rerouting wires and such.
Highlight of the week-end; doing the grocery shopping! I haven't done that in over 5 years! It was pretty obvious I was a man outside of his element wondering around the aisles with a list not knowing where to start or where to end...I'd say it was cheap entertainment except I learned how much food costs after this exercise.
