Third street is right on. There's no place for all that air to go when you are slamming the door, particularly with a regular cab truck.
I normally roll the window down a bit, or keep my door open while waiting for my passenger to close their door (then slam mine). I haven't tried this, but I suspect if you take the little flapper valve out of the vents in the bottom of the door (the "PRV", or Pressure Relief Valve) it might allow a bit more airflow and help the situation. The tradeoff is that you might get a little more cold air creeping in during the winter months. K
