Re: has anyone put 03 silverado seats in a 73-87 chevy?

Classic Chev, really like what you did. Very clean.

I went bacck to the stock back seat in mine a couple weeks ago, and then added nut plates to the C pillar so I'd have shoulder belts in the back. I used the stock front belts for the rear and mounted them at the same hight difference between the seat back and the anchor that they were mounted on the B pillar. Looks stock and I don't intend to crash my truck and find out how well they work...

Re: has anyone put 03 silverado seats in a 73-87 chevy?

Thanks.

Nothing like new comfy seats, heated lumbar etc. Just have to get a console and my panels recovered and the interior will be done.

Re: has anyone put 03 silverado seats in a 73-87 chevy?

definitly some good ideas for mounting my 03 tahoo seats.. i am gonna combine a few ideas since i am already in the process of redoing my floorboards in the 85 longbed. dont have to worry about the gas tank because it has a fuel cell in the back. the only problem is mine currently isnt a tilt column but i have a shiny chrome one in the garage for an old project.

Re: has anyone put 03 silverado seats in a 73-87 chevy?

I agree with 87c10slammer, I am going to put my 03 seats in my 80 within the next couple of weeks. I really didn't want to lose the sliders but it looks like I may have to?
I don't want to relocate my gas tank.

If I did it again I think I would go even lower. I used the front centre as the low point and made the floor equal to that point. I think that will gain a couple more inches, but th entire area under the seat would have to be flattened.

Im 6' and I look through the centre of the windsheild, and have about a fist from the top of my head to the headliner with the seats in the lowest position.

Dude, can you explain the "lowest position" Do you have it adjustable in some way?
Or is that factory with the Caddy seats? My 03 seats don't go up and down.

Escalade seats are 6 way power. Up down, back and forth in and out

I know non power seats have no adjustment up and down, but there is less crap under the seat also.

Re: has anyone put 03 silverado seats in a 73-87 chevy?

Finally got my 03 seats installed in my truck, then took them back out for carpet. (tomorrow)
I decided to tear into all the sliders and mounts from the factory and just made all new ones, now they are 5 in lower then stock.

Re: has anyone put 03 silverado seats in a 73-87 chevy?

Couldn't make the sliders that low. I have to get the edge of the material almost on the metal hump. Otherwise my fat ass couldn't get under the steering wheel. My factory bench has been long gone but I think I'm about 1/2in below the factory height, based on my other truck.

Cool
I wasn't sure.
So they are just mounted solid right?
I'm thinking I will flatten my floors on both sides of the trans tunnel.
