control arm bushings

so I am getting ready to put my front suspension back together and was wondering if the control arm bushings need to be pressed back in or could I just tighten the nuts down to draw them in? I imagine they have to be pressed but didnt know if anyone has tried it or not.

Re: control arm bushings

They need to be pressed in. You'll probably tear them/go in uneven/wonky doing it the way you want to try. All you need is a hydraulic press, nothing too fancy, and a few old bearing races/discs. Haven't tried it that way, I'm sure my journeyman would flip **** on me if I did though...
