59 Diff drain plug size?
Hey guys,
Does anyone know the rear differential drain plug size for a 1959 1/2 ton 235ci truck? It is missing on my project truck and what should i fill it up with? Would it b possible to clean inside? Last edited by dcody619; 03-12-2011 at 07:50 PM. Reason: Add truck info |

Re: 59 Diff drain plug size?
I've got one out here out of a 55/59 truck that's easy to get to but it's too late an too cold tonight.
I think if you look at the threads, they are fine threads and the plug has a sholder on it and takes a gasket. Ecklers shows this one for a car http://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-re...1957-1964.html and I think the truck uses the same one but can't guarantee it. |

Re: 59 Diff drain plug size?
I looked a while ago and no drain plug on the rear end I have it has the removable cover.
I run 80/90 weight in mine. I'm pretty sure that if you can figure out the size and thread you can get a drain plug at the local parts house. Especially if they have a set of Dorman cabinets. |
