in a truck that already has way too much weight on the front vs. rear I think a cummins would be a tire smoking animal and thats about it.

may as well keep a straight axle underneath the front because no matter what it will handle terrible.

Does anyone know about this truck and the front suspension on it? I can't imagine a 56 frame wouldn't be stronger than today's 1/2 ton frames.

its not. a '56 frame will give and deflect much more than a frame from a newer truck.

if you really want a diesel look at something smaller or something like a duramax with aluminum heads.
