maybe an aftermarket system might work that way, but the factory system mounts to the frame for strength and mounts at the rear to the piece so that both sides pull evenly....

It's more of a "let's pass inspection!" type deal than a "I really care about the parking brake system" type deal

But I don't want it breaking after spending all day wiring this up.
