I bought 32 SAE plastic hubcap lug nuts from an RV conversion van/truck outfit in Indiana. They had them ready in a plastic bag for me when I picked up my new (200 mile) 8 lug 2006 aluminum takeoff wheels. They warned me not to use the new nuts with my raggedy old wheels. The claim was the newer wheels have a different taper seat than the older SAE stuff.
My "originals" had to go anyway. They were a devil-may-care mix of long chrome acorns and standard nuts in at least 3 different hex drive sizes. At least all the studs were not cross-threaded and were the same size. |

here are some dorman part numbers for 1/2 - 20 lug nuts and lug nut covers for our old trucks
611-611 black lug nut covers 611-178 that said lug nut covers will fit and have 1/2 - 20 thread for most of the older trucks |
