Don't you dare saw that thing up

Yeah it's in good shape, but if you don't want to lift it there's only one way to clear the tires. 40's on a 44 without a problem? 35's are pushing it on a 44 and even more so if you do lock it up. If I'm going to be deep enough a heli ride is the only way out of a problem occurs, I sure as hell am not going to bet on the 44 surviving in the back-country with no trails to speak of. I've not wheeled outside of Colorado, but muskeg-no trails at all might just be the definition of hard 4-wheeling.

I've personally seen a D44 front shaft grenade with Q78 (36") Swampers in DirtyLarry's 8.1L powered 78 in nothing more than a snow drift. Granted, pushing 425 hp at it didn't help, nor did the tru-trac or the stock shafts. Point being D44's will not survive the abuse of big tires and a heavy truck long enough for me to head out into the boonies far away from help and push it.

If getting away and being far out in the sticks (meaning far away from help) your stuff has to be bulletproof.
