Re: My 1958 Apache build
Well today we got the cab and bed off. Got the motor and tranny off of the frame and the frame taken out of the garage. It had a 74 C20 3/4 ton frame with a 12 bolt. I am picking up a S10 frame with 72 ford f150 9" for 100$. So I will start with that. Here are some pics of us getting the stuff off.

Here are 2 more with the cab and bed off. I have to work for the next 2 weekends, so the truck is put on the back burner for 2-3 weeks.

Re: My 1958 Apache build
Well I haven't made any head way as far as work on. The body in the past two weeks due to being on 12hr shifts with no days off and I picked up a 2nd job to help fund this. But with that 2nd job comes more parts. My back half kit shipped a couple of days ago and I put a third down on this little gem WWW.Wrenchrat.com stage 1 twin Turbo kit with turbontics 62-1 turbos, 2 tial f41 wastegates and tial 50mm BOV. I have went from the 454 and am doing a twin turbo 383 stroker.

Re: My 1958 Apache build
The twin turbo sounds very cool. Should look sweet on the engine.

Re: My 1958 Apache build
Should be fun. Shooting for 600-700 HP on pump gas and water/Meth injection and 900-1000 HP on race gas. Not that ill drive it around on that but I'd like to see what it does on race gas.

Re: My 1958 Apache build
Here is a link to the you tube video of one of there setups
The compression of the engine was 8.5:1 and we ran 24lbs of boost with 110 octane fuel from a local pump and a water/methanol system from Snow's. The street driving scene was on 15lbs of boost, pump gas and water/methanol, it was to uncontrollable with high boost. Check out the latest April 2011 Car Craft magazine for our article, its on the stands. They made 900+rwhp and 900+rwtq with a stock block 355sbc, AFR227's and 21lbs of boost. |
