Re: Inside Rear View Mirrors

Possibly! Where was your truck built. Mine was Pontiac, Michigan.

Nice truck BTW.

Well there goes that theory. I was wondering if it was a Pontiac thing.

That's what I have in my truck. The original owner didn’t order an inside mirror because he put a camper on when the truck was new. Back around 1992 I picked up a nice original inside bracket from a junk yard along with a Corvair flip mirror. The mirror was really tired and eventually wore out. I bought one of the brand new aftermarket flip mirrors – and hated it. Basically it vibrated at speed (unlike the Corvair mirror), and it didn’t flip “straight”. Every time it was switched from day to night, it needed to be realigned.

I just got sick of it and switched to a $5.00 Walmart mirror. There’s no vibration, and it flips straight. Probably wouldn’t look very cool on a restored truck, but there’s almost nothing stock on my truck anyway.

Re: Inside Rear View Mirrors

My '60 GMC Suburban also did not come with a mirror from the factory.
