In search of a softer ride!

After about a year of driving around with my 4/6 dropped truck, I am in search of a better ride.

Front is lowered via 2.5'' Western spindles and 2'' Belltech coils. The rear is lowered via a Western Chassis flip-kit and shackles. C-notched and shock extenders.

I am running Doetsch-Tech drop shocks front and rear.

The ride is very rough to say the least. The front is is very harsh over bumps and imperfections in the road. The rear is very bouncy and harsh.

I know it's a truck, and I know it's lowered, but there has to be something better than this!

I was considering KYB GR-2 shocks. I found a supplier who sells them for a 2'' front coil drop. The rear I should be able to use stock length shocks with my extenders?

Besides KYB, how are the Monroe Sensatracs? I've heard good things.

Any other shock you can recommend?

Re: In search of a softer ride!

Try Porterbuilts 60-72 trailing arm conversion and run coil springs in the rear.

I'm sure that would be cream of the crop.... but let me rephrase: In search of a softer-ride via shocks only.

Haha it's fine! Funds here are just a tad-low for that Cadillac quality of a setup!

The GR-2's are supposed to be a really decent shock for the money.

How much travel do you have before limitations (how much space between the front bumpstop & x-member; how much shock travel between ride height & max compression)?

How many rear leafs in the spring pack?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I will have to take these measurements tomorrow. The rear leaf pack is 4 and then the bottom flat leaf which I guess is the overload?

Here is a pic of the amount of front travel I have with the supplied Doetsch-Techs which came with the kit. Doesn't seem like much does it?
