new motor old gas
Just finished putting the new motor in. There is maybe half a tank of gas in the truck. Almost 8 months to a year old. Reckon I should drain it or just mix it with some good gas? What you guys and gals think?

Re: new motor old gas
Drain it for sure, it can gum up your valves and bend pushrods and all kinds of good stuff....

Re: new motor old gas
That was what I was thinking. I would hate to screw up this motor.

Re: new motor old gas
Absolutely, better to be safe than sorry. 8 months old is probably not too bad but I've seen what old gas can do, and it was not pretty. Not worth the chance to me.

Re: new motor old gas
Better to have fresh gas why would you want to tune a motor or fight with a lean misfire and than have to retune
